5 5 04/19 RoHS/ElektroG/WEEE RoHS/ElektroG/WEEE The Schlemmer products in this catalog comply with the directive 2011/65/EU banning the use of certain substances in the manufac- ture or processing of electrical and electronic equipment and compo- nents. The objective of Schlemmer is to exclude the use of particular- ly problematic material components in the products in question. Amongst other things, this entails lead-free soldering of electronic components, withdraw of toxic flame retardants in the manufacture of cables and cable protection devices and the introduction of suitable substitute products. The following substances are not contained in the above mentioned equipment according to the directive: • Lead • Mercury • Cadmium • Sexavalent chromium • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) The revised Appendix to the Directive specifies maximum concentrations for the materials contained in a product. The permitted concentrations are 0.01% by weight for cadmium and 0.1% by weight for the other five substances. Brass and copper alloys must not contain more than 4% lead by weight. The acronym RoHS means „Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment“. A transitional period for manufacturers and industries affected by this Directive was effective until July 1, 2006. Declaration regarding the Implementation of Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS) of June 8 2011 and of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) of 16.03.2005 as well as of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive 2012/19/EU. The Schlemmer products delivered to you do not contain - according to our knowl- edge – substances in concentrations, preparations or applications whose placing on the market is forbidden in accordance with the current requirements of the European directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS) of 08.06.2011 and the German Electrical and Electron- ic Equipment Act (ElektroG) of 16.03.2005. Furthermore, Schlemmer products also do not contain any chromised coatings with hexavalent chromium in the surface. Schlemmer products are mostly components without any independent function and therefore not subjected to RoHS/WEEE/ElektroG. These components include cables and wires; customised cables and wires; glands; protection hose systems; connectors and components for their endings, installing and marking cables and wires as well as mechatronics components. Purely mechanical tools (no electric current!) such as tongs, scissors, power screw- drivers, stripping tools etc. are not subjected to RoHS/WEEE/ElektroG. In particular Schlemmer products need not comply with RoHS when they are installed in „large-scale stationary industrial tools“ (machine construction). (Article 2, paragraph 4d 2011/65/EU). However, electrical tools for cutting, stripping, crimping, pressing and shrinking are concerned. Also electrical measuring tools, printers, embossing machines are concerned. These products, however, are not distributed by Schlemmer. Even if the vast majority of Schlemmer products are not directly concerned by RoHS/ WEEE/ElektroG, it is our concern to consult our customers using products as built-in or add-on parts in electrical and electronic equipment and provide early information on compliance with the threshold values specified in Section 5 of RoHS/ElektroG. As far as Schlemmer products made of brass are concerned, the exceptional rule stated under Item 6 of the Annex to RoHS applies according to which copper alloys with a lead portion of up to 4.0 weight per cent are exempted from the requirements. We use brass alloys with a lead portion of max. 3.5 weight per cent for the articles concerned and therefore are consistent with the RoHS requirements. Die Schlemmer Produkte in diesem Katalog entsprechen der Richtli- nie 2011/65/EU zum Verbot bestimmter Substanzen bei der Herstel- lung und Verarbeitung von elektrischen und elektronischen Geräten und Bauteilen. Schlemmer verfolgt das Ziel, äußerst problematische Stoffbestandteile aus den Produkten zu verbannen. Dazu gehört unter anderem die bleifreie Verlötung elektronischer Bauteile, Verzicht auf giftige Flammhemmer bei der Herstellung von Kabeln und Kabelschutzartikeln sowie die Einführung entsprechender Ersatzprodukte. Nachfolgende Stoffe sind in den oben genannten Produkten gemäß Richtlinie nicht enthalten: • Blei • Quecksilber • Cadmium • Sechswertiges Chrom • Polybromierte Biphenyle (PBB) • Polybromierte Diphenylether (PBDE) Nach dem überarbeitenden Anhang der Richtlinie sind konkrete Grenzwerte für die im Produkt enthaltenen Materialien festgelegt. Für Cadmium beträgt der Grenzwert 0,01 Gewichts-% und für die anderen Stoffe 0,1 Gewichts-%. Messing- und Kupfer- legierungen dürfen maximal 4 Gewichts-% Blei haben. Die Abkürzung RoHS bedeutet engl. „Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment“ und deut. „Beschränkung der Verwendung bestimmter gefährlicher Stoffe in Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten“. Die Übergangsfrist für die betroffenen Hersteller und Branchen lief bis zum 1. Juli 2006. Erklärung zur Umsetzung der Richtlinie 2011/65/EU (RoHS) vom 08.06.2011 und des Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetzes (ElektroG) vom 16.03.2005 sowie der Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) 2012/19/EU. Schlemmer Produkte enthalten nach unserer Kenntnis keine Stoffe in Konzentratio- nen, Zubereitungen oder Anwendungen, deren Inverkehrbringen entsprechend den geltenden Anforderungen der europäischen Richtlinie 2011/65/EU (RoHS) vom 08.06.2011 und dem deutschen Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz (ElektroG) vom 16.03.2005 verboten ist. Des Weiteren enthalten Schlemmer Produkte auch keine chromatierten Beschichtun- gen mit Chrom(VI) in der Oberfläche. Schlemmer Produkte sind in der weit überwiegenden Mehrzahl Bauteile ohne eigen- ständige Funktion und unterliegen damit nicht RoHS/ WEEE/ ElektroG. Dazu gehören Kabel und Leitungen; konfektionierte Kabel und Leitungen; Verschrau- bungen; Schutzschlauchsysteme; Steckverbinder und Komponenten für Abschluss, Befestigung und Markierung von Kabel und Leitungen sowie Mechatronik-Kompo- nenten. Rein mechanische Werkzeuge (kein elektrischer Strom!) wie z.B. Zangen, Scheren, Schrauber, Abisolierwerkzeuge etc. sind von RoHS / WEEE / ElektroG nicht betroffen. Insbesondere, wenn Schlemmer-Produkte in „ortsfeste industrielle Großwerkzeuge“ (Maschinenbau) montiert werden, müssen sie nicht RoHS- konform sein (Artikel 2, Abs. 4d 2011/65/EU). Betroffen sind jedoch elektrische Werkzeuge zum Schneiden, Abisolieren, Crimpen, Verpressen und Schrumpfen. Ebenfalls betroffen sind elektrische Messgeräte, -Dru- cker, -Prägegeräte. Diese Produkte vertreibt Schlemmer jedoch nicht. Auch wenn die weit überwiegende Anzahl von Schlemmer Produkten nicht unmittel- bar von RoHS / WEEE / ElektroG betroffen sind, ist es uns ein wichtiges Anliegen, unsere Kunden, die Produkte als Ein- oder Anbauteile in Elektro- und Elektronikgerä- ten verwenden, zu beraten und frühmöglich Informationen zur Erfüllung der in RoHS / ElektroG, §5 genannten Grenzwerte zu geben. Für unsere Produkte aus Messing gilt die im Anhang zur RoHS unter Punkt 6 genann- te Ausnahme, nach der Kupferlegierungen mit einem Bleianteil von bis zu 4,0 Gewichtsprozent von den Anforderungen ausgenommen sind. Wir verwenden für die betroffenen Artikel Messinglegierungen mit einem Bleianteil von maximal 3,5 Gewichtsprozent und sind damit konform mit den RoHS-Anforderungen.
